The Life of Rob Mitchell
Basically I began thinking about all the repair work I do on people's PC's and realized that damn near everyone has the same problems. So when I fix something I'm going to post the fix on here so everyone else can make the repairs themselves.

Terrible DSL Access (particularly through AOL)

I was having trouble helping Paula set up her DSL network which is run by AOL.  I try to stay clear of DSL at all costs becuase of its abysmal speeds compared to cable.   Seems the problem was most DSL services use PPPoE access to connect to their services.  Which brings me to another reason I hate DSL, you SHOULD NOT have to connect to broadband.  It should just work.

This is a good link to setting up DSL with a router:

Now I know how to fix it and you do too...
Any questions you know where to find me
